Positive Parenting Family Engagement Specialist

 

The Family Engagement specialist uses her/his talents to support the Positive Parenting Family Support Program achieving the goals and completing the tasks associated with family engagement/support efforts. This position provides support to other programs within Positive Parenting responsible for providing direct service to families. The Family Engagement Specialist will work with children and families of diverse backgrounds as well as community members, leaders and organizations. Engaging in relationship and building community and belonging is the foundation of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Be creative and engaging

  • Recruit and Enroll Families for Positive Parenting Family Support

  • Build relationships with families and community partners/stakeholders

  • Coordinate/Plan engagement activities/programs

  • Coordinate/Plan special events and celebrations with families

  • Participate in the development of and facilitate Parent Group

  • Create opportunities for parents/families to learn and grow in relationship skills

  • Promote the importance of early education and the desire for life-long learning

  • Recruit, support and encourage parents to become leaders and advocates for their children

  • Develop and maintain partnerships/relationships with public, private and community organizations to promote support of families

  • Facilitate access to community resources

  • Refer and advocate on behalf of families and children with outside agencies

  • Attend community meetings on behalf of Positive Parenting and communicate to the community and back to the program about family/community engagement

  • Maintain family support center site and ensure a welcoming atmosphere

  • Attend job related training's

  • Maintain confidentiality of all families and throughout the agency

  • Maintain files and complete all paperwork/reporting as required

  • Attend staff meetings and other agency functions/meetings/events

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Benefits: Paid vacation, sick and holiday time, as well as, annual performance bonuses and/or retirement contributions for those eligible

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $14.70 /hour

Required education:

  • Bachelor's

Required experience:

  • Experience in home visits preferred: 1 year

Required license or certification:

  • Driver's License
