Family Foundations/Early Head Start
Home Visitor
Focus on Renewal is now accepting applications for a Home Visitor for its Family Foundation Early Head Start Program, which provides early, continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income families with children up to age three.
Its primary purpose is to enhance positive developmental outcomes of children through supportive services to the child, family and community of Sto-Rox.
Raising a family takes hard work and lots of love. Family Foundations Early Head Start works together with you to provide helpful information, ideas, activities and support. Help is also offered to help families with children who have special needs. Family Foundations is a neighborhood-based program made up of caring people who happen to be experts in child development. We just don't give you information, we create really fun ways for you and your child(ren) to learn and grow together. We are with you until your child is three years old--the most important years of their early development. And even then, we can offer advice and direction as you and your family move on to the next phase of your lives.
Applicants must be able to work with young children and families from diverse backgrounds and willing to work at all three sites in the McKees Rocks area.
Interested parties should possess the following:
- 2 years experience in working with young children
- BA/BS in Early Childhood Development or related field
- Able to obtain Child Abuse, Criminal and FBI Clearances
- A valid PA drivers license and own vehicle
Experience in home visiting preferred. This is a full-time position.

Part-time Job Opportunity through Allegheny County
Please note this position is available through Allegheny County's STEP program and individuals hired are NOT employees of FOR.
The Senior Training and Employment Program (STEP) provides work experience and training opportunities to Allegheny County residents age 55 and older who meet income guidelines. Individuals enrolled in the program receive 20 hours of training/work experience in nonprofit or government agencies and are paid minimum wage. Applicants must 55 or older and unemployed for at least six months. Income cannot be more than 125% of the poverty level.
